Sleek Alt Filler is a Shopify app published by Sleek App LLC, 1309 Coffeen Ave, STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801. This policy explains what the app collects from a merchant’s Shopify store, why, where it goes, and how long it is kept.
What Sleek Alt Filler does
Sleek Alt Filler writes alt text — the written description a screen reader announces in place of an image — onto product images and videos in a Shopify store. On paid plans it can generate those descriptions using an AI model.
What we collect
When you install Sleek Alt Filler, it accesses your store through Shopify’s Admin API using the permissions you approve at install: read products and write files.
We store, in a database hosted by Neon (Databricks, Inc.) in the United States:

What we do NOT collect
Sleek Alt Filler does not access, receive or store:
- Customer names, emails, addresses or any customer records
- Orders, carts, checkouts or payment information
- Your Shopify staff accounts’ personal details
- Anything at all from your storefront’s visitors
The app requests only read_products and write_files. It has no technical means to reach customer or order data, because Shopify never grants it.
Payments are handled entirely by Shopify’s billing system. We never see or store card details.
AI processing
If you enable AI descriptions on a paid plan, the app sends the following to Google (Gemini API) to generate each description:
- The image itself, or for a video its preview frame
- The filename, where one exists
- The product’s title, type and vendor
- Any keywords you configured
Nothing else is sent. Customer data is never sent because the app never has it.
Google does not use this data to train its models. Sleek Alt Filler runs on Google’s paid API tier, where Google’s terms state it “doesn’t use your prompts… or responses to improve our products.” Google retains prompts briefly for abuse detection only — currently up to 55 days — and does not use that data for model training.
If you never turn AI on, no data leaves our systems for this purpose at all. Rule-based alt text is generated entirely within the app.
Where your data is processed
Sleek Alt Filler runs on Render and stores data with Neon, both in the United States. Google processes AI requests in the United States and may process them in other countries where it operates facilities.
If you are established in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we act as your processor and you act as the controller. Transfers of personal data from you to us are made under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914, Module Two, controller to processor), supplemented for the United Kingdom by the Information Commissioner’s International Data Transfer Addendum and, for Switzerland, by the modifications required under the Federal Act on Data Protection — all of which form part of our Data Processing Addendum.
Onward transfers go only to the three US sub-processors listed below. Each is an active participant in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so those onward transfers are covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 and the corresponding UK and Swiss adequacy findings, as permitted by Clause 8.8(i) of the Standard Contractual Clauses.

We will update this list before adding or replacing a sub-processor.
How long we keep it
While Sleek Alt Filler is installed, we keep your data so the app can work and so you can undo past runs.
When you uninstall, your access tokens are deleted immediately. Shopify then sends us a deletion request 48 hours later, and everything else — settings, run history, stored alt text, the credit ledger — is erased. We complete this well within the 30 days Shopify allows.
You can request erasure at any time by contacting us, or by uninstalling.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase the data we hold, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us at support@sleekapp.io and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Access tokens are stored in an access-controlled database and are never displayed in the app or shared. All traffic uses HTTPS. Access to production systems is limited to this app’s installations only.
Changes
We will update this page if the app’s data handling changes, and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to installed merchants.
